Beloved KTLA 5 Entertainment Reporter Sam Rubin Passes Away at 64

The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved figures as KTLA 5 entertainment reporter Sam Rubin passed away at the age of 64. Rubin, who had been a fixture on the KTLA Morning News since 1991, suffered a fatal heart attack on Friday morning, according to TMZ.

Rubin’s passing has left many in shock, with KTLA technology reporter Rich DeMuro expressing his disbelief on social media. DeMuro shared a heartfelt message, saying, “Morning news in Hollywood will never be the same without you.”

Throughout his illustrious career, Rubin garnered multiple Emmy Awards, a Golden Mike, and Los Angeles Press Club awards for best entertainment reporter. He was also honored with a lifetime achievement award from the Southern California Broadcasters Association.

In addition to his work as a reporter, Rubin was a founding member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association and owned the SRE Inc. television production company. He was known for his charitable efforts, including promoting an annual bike ride to raise funds for multiple sclerosis research.

Rubin, a graduate of Occidental College, is survived by his wife Leslie and their four children. His contributions to the entertainment industry and his philanthropic endeavors have left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
