La Salle-Peru dominates Ottawa, secures undefeated I-8 championship – Shaw Local

La Salle-Peru No. 1 doubles team of senior Andrew Bollis and junior Danny Santoy secured a hard-fought victory against Ottawa’s No. 1 duo of senior Alan Sifuentes and sophomore Evan Krafft in a thrilling match that ended with a 7-6 (10-2), 5-7, 6-3 triumph. The intense battle took place at the Henderson-Guenther Tennis Facility, where the Cavaliers ultimately swept the Pirates 5-0.

Despite facing several ups and downs throughout the match, Bollis and Santoy managed to maintain their composure and secure the win, completing an unbeaten Interstate 8 Conference regular season for themselves and their team. Reflecting on the match, Bollis acknowledged the resilience of their opponents, stating, “It’s always tough, but we have to find a way to close things out better.”

Santoy highlighted the importance of their teamwork and ability to adapt to challenging moments during the match, emphasizing their strong serve-receive and shot-making skills. The duo’s victory was a crucial contribution to La Salle-Peru’s perfect 5-0 league championship as a team.
