Escanaba Senior Bon LaChance Shines on the Mound in Dominant Performance

ESCANABA– Bon LaChance, a senior at Escanaba High School, had a redemption story for the ages in his recent baseball game against Marquette. After a rough outing in his last start, LaChance came back with a vengeance, pitching a gem that will be remembered for years to come.

In his previous game, LaChance struggled, allowing seven runs in the first inning and ultimately taking a loss. However, in the game against Marquette, he was a completely different pitcher. LaChance carried a no-hitter through 4 1/3 innings, allowing only one earned run off four hits with eight strikeouts.

“I haven’t thrown strikes like that since 12U baseball,” LaChance said after the game. “It feels good to be on the mound and control myself.”

LaChance’s dominance on the mound was complemented by a strong offensive performance from the Eskymos. The team scored early and often, jumping on Marquette’s pitching to secure a 13-1 victory.

With LaChance dealing on the mound and his teammates providing run support, the Eskymos cruised to a decisive win. LaChance’s performance was praised by his coach, Scott Hanson, who called it one of the best he’s seen from the senior pitcher.

Overall, it was a complete team effort for Escanaba, with players like Mikaiden Hughes, Eli Gardner, and Nolan Bink contributing to the offensive onslaught.

The victory over Marquette was just the start of a busy week for Escanaba, with doubleheaders scheduled against Negaunee and Southgate Anderson. The team’s strong performance against tough competition bodes well for their future success.

As LaChance and the Eskymos continue their season, they will look to build on this impressive win and carry the momentum forward into the playoffs. With LaChance leading the way on the mound, Escanaba’s opponents better watch out for “The Bambino” and his dominant pitching performances.
