Reading Time: 2 minutes

Indigo Technologies, a leading Smart EV OEM, has received a strategic investment from Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), accelerating its development of innovative electric vehicles. The investment will help Indigo create smart, smooth, and efficient light utility EVs designed for sustainable ride-hail, delivery, and autonomous transportation services. This partnership aims to make transportation network companies, delivery network companies, and fleet management companies more profitable while driving towards a more sustainable future.

In other EV news, REE, a provider of full by-wire electric trucks and platforms, has received certifications from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for its Class 4 P7-C chassis cab. These certifications include Phase 2 Greenhouse Gas and Zero Emission Powertrain, making REE eligible for state incentives totaling over $100,000 per vehicle. This milestone allows REE to sell in California and other states planning to adopt similar regulations, further boosting the demand for its electric trucks.

Meanwhile, a recent study by J.D. Power reveals that EV owners are experiencing faster tire wear compared to gas-powered vehicles. The study highlights the need for tire manufacturers and automakers to educate EV owners on tire performance differences and optimize tire wear without sacrificing other performance aspects. Michelin ranks highest in customer satisfaction across various vehicle segments, emphasizing the importance of quality tires for EVs.

Additionally, Nuvve Holding Corp. has launched a dedicated website for its vehicle-to-grid (V2G) platform, aiming to accelerate the electrification of transportation and improve grid resiliency. The company’s V2G technology manages EV battery charging and discharging while prioritizing vehicle and driver needs, ultimately supporting America’s transition to a decarbonized transportation sector.

Lastly, Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement with Mazda Motor Corporation to supply cylindrical automotive lithium-ion batteries, reaffirming their commitment to addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable growth in the automotive and battery sectors. Peterbilt has also delivered zero emission Model 520EVs to the Municipality of Anchorage Department of Solid Waste Services, supporting their goal to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
