Lawsuit Alleges Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of Sexual Assault in 2003

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former model Crystal McKinney has filed a lawsuit against hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of sexually assaulting her at his New York City recording studio in 2003. McKinney, who was 22 at the time and a successful model, met Combs at a restaurant during Men’s Fashion Week in Manhattan. Combs invited her to his studio later that night, where the alleged assault took place.

The lawsuit claims that McKinney smoked marijuana laced with a narcotic or intoxicating substance, causing her to feel as though she was floating. Combs then led her to the bathroom where the assault occurred. McKinney later woke up in a taxi and realized she had been sexually assaulted.

This accusation comes on the heels of a recent incident where security footage showed Combs attacking singer Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016. Combs released a video apologizing for the attack, calling his actions “inexcusable.” However, he is not facing criminal prosecution for the incident due to the statute of limitations.

The lawsuit filed by McKinney is just one of several legal challenges Combs is currently facing, including a federal criminal sex-trafficking investigation and multiple lawsuits alleging abuse and assault. The claim was filed under a New York City law that allows accusers to file civil litigation during a limited window, even if the events allegedly happened long ago.

Combs’ representatives have not yet responded to the allegations.
