Angola and Mozambique Forge Strong Energy Partnership at AOG 2024 Conference

With significant oil and gas reserves, Angola and Mozambique are solidifying their positions in the global energy market through collaboration and shared opportunities. The upcoming Angola Oil&Gas (AOG) 2024 conference and exhibition, set to take place in Luanda from October 2-3, will serve as a platform for industry players to learn from Angola’s success and explore investment opportunities in Mozambique’s energy sector.

Angola’s Foreign Minister Téte António recently attended the 10th Joint Commission of Cooperation between Angola and Mozambique, emphasizing the countries’ longstanding relationship and the potential for cross-border collaboration. Mozambique, boasting the third-largest natural gas reserves in Africa, is looking to enhance its LNG market competitiveness through partnerships with Angola and other nations on the continent.

The Angola LNG Project, set to contribute up to 90% of Angola’s natural gas output, and Mozambique’s plans to develop onshore LNG trains demonstrate the countries’ commitment to expanding infrastructure and becoming major players in the LNG market. Additionally, the establishment of a comprehensive terminal and logistics hub in Angola and the development of a rail network connecting Mozambique to Zambia highlight the region’s focus on infrastructure development and market integration.

By participating in AOG 2024, Mozambican companies have the opportunity to network with industry stakeholders, gain insights into the regional market, and showcase their capabilities. Through collaboration and shared projects, Angola and Mozambique are working towards enhancing efficiency, promoting sustainable development, and strengthening Africa’s position in the global energy market.

Overall, the AOG 2024 conference is set to facilitate discussions, partnerships, and investments that will drive the growth and development of the energy sectors in Angola and Mozambique, ultimately contributing to the continent’s energy security and economic prosperity.
