In a thrilling showdown at Hampshire College, the Lee boys tennis team faced off against Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in the PVIAC Western Massachusetts Class C Championship. Despite a valiant effort, Lee ultimately fell to PVCICS with a final score of 4-1.

This match marked the third time the two teams had met this season, with half of Lee’s losses coming at the hands of PVCICS. However, standout player Allen Ni managed to secure a victory for Lee in the third singles position. After a tense battle, Ni emerged victorious in a 10-point tiebreak, showcasing his determination and skill on the court.

Ni’s win was a highlight in an otherwise challenging day for Lee, as Cooper Maloney and Korey Chen also faced tough opponents in their singles matches. The doubles pairs of Lee also struggled against familiar foes from PVCICS, with both pairs ultimately falling short in their matches.

Despite the loss, Lee coach Josh Perrier commended his team for their efforts and resilience throughout the match. The Wildcats had previously faced PVCICS in the postseason, with mixed results in past encounters. Perrier expressed pride in his team’s performance and their ability to learn and grow from each match against their formidable opponents.
