Legendary filmmaker and producer Gangu Ramsay, known for his work with The Ramsay Brothers, passed away at the age of 83 after a month-long battle with health complications. The news of his demise was confirmed by his family through an official statement released on April 7.

Gangu Ramsay was a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, with over 50 acclaimed films under The Ramsay Brothers banner, including classics like Veerana, Purana Mandir, and Bandh Darwaza. He also made significant contributions to Saif Ali Khan’s debut film, Ashiq Awara, showcasing his creative versatility.

Ramsay’s collaboration with actor Akshay Kumar resulted in iconic moments in cinema, particularly through the Khiladi series, which included films like Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi and Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi.

As part of the Ramsay Brothers, Gangu Ramsay played a crucial role in shaping India’s horror film genre during the 1970s and 1980s, crafting over 30 horror films that left a lasting impact on Indian cinema. His influence extended to television as well, with shows like Zee Horror Show, Saturday Suspense, Naagin, and Zimbo captivating audiences for years.
