Dylan Catanese’s Tennis Perfection Continues at Lexington Invitational

LEXINGTON — Dylan Catanese’s streak of perfection remains unbroken as he and partner Ethan Remy secured a thrilling victory in the No. 1 doubles match at the Lexington Invitational tennis tournament. The duo rallied from a set down to clinch a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over their opponents from Columbus Bexley, helping the host Minutemen tie for first place with New Albany in the nine-team competition.

Despite finishing with zero points in the singles division, Lexington swept all three doubles courts to share the top spot with New Albany, both teams scoring 24 points. Catanese expressed his joy at defending the home turf, stating, “I’m still undefeated in invites as a varsity player, and it’s definitely cool to defend the home turf. The whole team has worked so hard. We definitely deserve this.”

This victory marked Catanese’s third consecutive doubles title at the Lexington Invitational, showcasing his dominance in the sport. With previous wins in other tournaments and a strong partnership with various teammates, Catanese’s success on the court has been consistent and impressive.

Lexington coach Ron Schaub praised Catanese’s performance, predicting a successful run for him and Remy in the upcoming state tournament. The duo’s resilience and determination were on full display as they battled tough opponents and emerged victorious in the finals, securing a crucial win for their team.
