Life after fury: The intersection of fitness and farming

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former Gladiators star Julie Saunders, known as Fury, has traded in her metallic leotard for a life on a farm outside Geelong. While her days are now filled with mucking out stables and wrangling creatures of all sizes, Julie’s dedication to health and fitness remains unwavering.

Living on a sprawling farm with her two children, Julie reflects on her decision to move away from the city for a more calming environment. Despite the lack of glamour, she finds fulfillment in being a hands-on mom and embracing the challenges of farm life.

After her time on Gladiators, Julie transitioned into sports marketing before settling in the Geelong region. Alongside her farm duties, she works as a personal trainer at Zap Fitness and has recently launched Evolv Fitness with her business partner Sacha Cole. Their mission is to make fitness more accessible through tailored programs that can be accessed in person or online.

In addition to her fitness endeavors, Julie has also ventured into the world of podcasting with the Evolv podcast, covering topics ranging from fitness and fashion to mental health. While she may have left her days as a gladiator behind, Julie’s passion for health and fitness continues to drive her forward.

As she looks towards the future, Julie acknowledges the possibility of downsizing once her children leave home but remains grateful for the support of her father, who plays a significant role in her life. And while the iconic Gladiators leotard may be a thing of the past, Julie’s spirit and determination remain as strong as ever.
