American Express and Delta Air Lines have announced the highly anticipated return of the Boeing 747 Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Card design, a limited-edition credit card made with metal from retired aircraft. This special edition card will be available from April 25 to June 5, 2024, exclusively for Delta SkyMiles® Reserve and Reserve Business Card Members.

Following the overwhelming demand for the card in 2022, American Express and Delta have decided to produce twice as many cards this year. The new design features 33% metal from two Delta 747 planes that were retired in 2017. The glossy white finish of the card resembles clouds and includes details of the plane’s service history, such as its first and last flights, tail number, and total miles flown.

Jon Gantman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cobrand Product Management at American Express, expressed excitement about the re-release, stating, “It’s a way for card members who love flying to keep a piece of aviation history with them.” Prashant Sharma, V.P. of Loyalty at Delta Air Lines, emphasized the card’s significance in reflecting Delta’s commitment to customer experience and innovation.

The Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Cards offer numerous benefits for frequent travelers, including yearly enhanced Companion Certificates, accelerated miles earning, and exclusive dining reservations through Global Dining Access by Resy. Small business owners who travel frequently may find this card particularly advantageous, as it combines travel benefits with a touch of aviation history.
