Little Falls dominates Pequot Lakes in Area Softball doubleheader – Brainerd Dispatch

Sequoia Kicker led the Little Falls Flyers to a doubleheader sweep against the Pequot Lakes Patriots with impressive performances in both games. In the first game, Kicker scored two runs while Leah LeBlanc and Brynn Thomas contributed with extra-base hits. Pequot Lakes’ June Ruud and Rian Zutter also had solid performances, with Ruud going 3-for-3 and Zutter scoring the lone run for the Patriots.

In the second game, Kicker not only pitched the win but also scored three runs to secure the victory for Little Falls. Vannessa Ostrowski stood out for Pequot Lakes with two doubles in the game.

Meanwhile, Maddie Gaffke and Natalie Knutson powered the Pierz Pioneers to a dominant doubleheader sweep against the Milaca Wolves. Gaffke hit two home runs in the first game, while Knutson added a solo homer in the second game. Alyssa Sadlovsky and Liz Gross also made significant contributions to the Pioneers’ victories.

In other games, Jenna Dykhoff led the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines to a big win over the Perham Yellowjackets with a stellar pitching performance and a solo home run. Abby Gilbert shined for the Pine River-Backus Tigers, pitching a complete game with 12 strikeouts in a victory over the Laporte Wildcats.

Overall, it was a day filled with standout performances and exciting matchups in high school softball action.
