The solar eclipse that captivated the United States today brought out a range of emotions and unique experiences across the country. From the West Coast to the East Coast, people marveled at the celestial event, with some even celebrating in special ways.

In Cleveland, Ohio, newborn babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital were dressed up in special onesies and eye gear to mark the occasion. Caregivers wanted to involve the babies in the historic event, knowing they wouldn’t be able to fully experience it themselves. The next total solar eclipse in Ohio won’t occur for another two decades, making this day truly special for these little ones.

Meanwhile, in Lordstown, Ohio, families gathered in the parking lot of the Foxconn Electric Vehicle plant to witness the eclipse. Dan Mincks, an employee at the plant, was joined by his wife, Julie, and their three kids. The experience was described as a “total blackout” by Mincks, with his daughter Allison likening it to a “black hole.”

As the eclipse made its way across the country, people in various states shared their unique experiences and emotions. Whether it was cheering as streetlights came on in Indiana during totality or marveling at the cosmic event from a plane above Arkansas, the eclipse brought people together in awe and wonder.
