In a dramatic turn of events, the Biden campaign has accused Donald Trump of “playing games with debates” after the former president accepted an invitation for a third presidential debate despite Biden’s insistence on only participating in two. Jen O’Malley Dillon, chair of Biden’s re-election campaign, called out Trump for his history of manipulating debate rules and not showing up for debates in the past.
Dillon stated, “President Biden made his terms clear for two one-on-one debates, and Donald Trump accepted those terms. No more games. No more chaos, no more debate about debates. We’ll see Donald Trump on June 27th in Atlanta – if he shows up.”
This accusation comes after a series of back-and-forth announcements between the two campaigns regarding the debate schedule. Biden and Trump agreed to face off on June 27th in Atlanta and again on September 10th at a location yet to be announced. However, Trump has now accepted an invitation for a third debate moderated by Fox News in October, leaving uncertainty about Biden’s participation.
The high-stakes face-offs between the two candidates have taken center stage in the lead-up to the November election, with both campaigns eager to showcase their strengths and policies to the American public. The debate drama continues to unfold as the race for the presidency heats up.
