Idaho Fitness Factory is set to breathe new life into a closed Rite Aid location at Eagle Rd. and Victory Rd. The locally-owned chain will be opening its tenth location in the former drug store space, with an expected opening this summer. This move comes after Rite Aid closed the store last August as part of a series of closures due to bankruptcy reorganization.

President and CEO Dusty Martin expressed excitement about the new location, calling it “kind of special” as they have been eyeing the neighborhood for over a decade. This will be Idaho Fitness Factory’s largest location yet, offering a range of gym services including weights, cardio, tanning, saunas, and red light therapy.

With a mix of gym types across their existing locations, Martin emphasized the importance of fitting into neighborhoods rather than being a destination club. Alturas Business Partners of Eagle acquired the chain in 2022, leading to several new locations in the past two years with more growth on the horizon.

Martin shared plans for further expansion in the Treasure Valley, highlighting the potential for two or three gyms in South Boise alone. The goal is to be a part of smaller neighborhoods within the larger community, connecting with residents on a local level.

While an opening date for the new gym at 3250 S Eagle Rd. has not been set, the community can look forward to a new fitness option in the area soon.
