A new business in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, is offering a unique service that aims to make life a little easier for residents. Curbside Appeal, owned by Mike Prosky, will take care of the weekly chore of taking out the trash for those who may not be able to do it themselves.

Prosky understands that taking out the trash can be a burden for many people, whether they are elderly, busy, or simply don’t want to deal with it. That’s why he started Curbside Appeal, to provide a helping hand to those who need it.

With a population in Allegheny County that includes 20 percent of people aged 65 and older, as well as others with physical limitations, Prosky saw a need for this service. He and his team will come to your house, take your trash to the curb, and put the cans back in their rightful spot after pickup.

The business, which started in March, currently serves customers in the Penn Hills and Plum areas. Rates for the service are $40 a month for weekly pickup and $20 for biweekly service.

“People are surprised that this service exists, and they think it’s a great thing,” Prosky said. He plans to keep the business in the eastern suburbs for now as he continues to grow.
