The logistic movement in Indore has seen a significant rise of over 10 per cent, fueled by increased demand from the automotive and infrastructure sectors. This surge in logistic activity is expected to further increase with rising orders for container deliveries to ports, especially with the boost in exports from the land-locked state of Madhya Pradesh.

Indore, being a major trading and business center, witnesses around 4,000 commercial vehicles moving through the city every day, according to truckers. Amrit Madan, president of the All India Motor Transport Congress, highlighted the growth in the logistic sector due to the demand from the automotive and infrastructure industries. He anticipates a double-digit jump in logistic movement during the peak demand period from April to June, with a 10-15 per cent rise from the previous year.

The scrapping of notified check posts is expected to reduce travel time and potentially bring down freight charges, as per the All India Motor Transport Congress. Additionally, the new season harvest of rabi crops and increased demand for grocery items have led to a surge in truck bookings from Indore to various parts of the country.

Vijay Kalra, former vice president of the All India Motor Transport Congress (West Zone), expressed optimism about the current peak season for the logistic industry. He noted a sharp increase in the movement of automobiles, grains, and other commodities from Indore to South India, Maharashtra, and other parts of the state.

Overall, the logistic industry in Indore is experiencing a significant upswing, driven by the growing demand from key sectors and the favorable market conditions.
