The Lac qui Parle Valley baseball team soared to victory in their season opener against Central Minnesota Christian School despite facing challenging weather conditions. The Eagles secured an 11-1 win in a five-inning Camden Conference matchup, showcasing a dominant performance on the field.

Led by head coach Darby Bjorgan, the Eagles played error-free baseball and executed a collective no-hitter against the Bluejays, who are now 0-2 for the season. Dyllon Geiser, a senior pitcher, played a pivotal role in the victory by going two innings, allowing only one earned run, and striking out four batters.

Brock Bjornjeld and Kaden Mortenson also contributed to the strong pitching performance, providing three scoreless innings in relief of Geiser. The Eagles’ aggressive baserunning strategy paid off as they totaled 10 stolen bases and capitalized on six CMCS errors to reach 11 runs on seven hits.

Eight batters from LQPV recorded hits, with senior Cael Benson leading the way with a 2-for-2 performance, including a run scored and a stolen base. The Bluejays managed to score a lone run in the first inning, but it was not enough to overcome the Eagles’ dominant display.

With this impressive season opener victory, LQPV sets a strong foundation for the rest of their season. The team’s next challenge will be against Hancock, while CMCS will face MACCRAY in their upcoming matchups.
