Luka Dončić scores 32 points and hits game-winning shot to give Mavericks 2-0 series lead in NBA playoffs

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Dallas Mavericks are on fire in the Western Conference finals, taking a commanding 2-0 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves in a heart-stopping Game 2. Led by superstar Luka Dončić, the Mavericks secured a 109-108 victory, leaving the Timberwolves reeling.

Dončić put on a show with 32 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, including the game-winning shot over Rudy Gobert. The Slovenian sensation made sure to let Gobert know about it in his native language after the game.

Despite a valiant effort from the Timberwolves, including a standout performance from Naz Reid with 23 points, the Mavericks clawed their way back from an 18-point deficit to steal the win. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with 11 lead changes in the fourth quarter alone.

However, controversy marred the game as a crucial call went in favor of the Mavericks after a clear foul by Kyrie Irving on Jaden McDaniels was not reviewed. The missed call proved costly for the Timberwolves, who had a chance to seal the game before Dončić’s heroics.

As the series shifts to Dallas for Game 3, the Timberwolves will need to regroup and find a way to contain Dončić, who has been unstoppable. Additionally, star player Anthony Edwards will need to break out of his shooting slump to give Minnesota a fighting chance against the Mavericks. The stage is set for an intense showdown as both teams look to gain the upper hand in the series.
