The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2024, which includes two legendary football coaches and a respected basketball official. John Magistro, known for leading Bellaire to consecutive state championship game appearances, and Lou Nocida, who secured 10 state titles at Sistersville, are the latest additions in the Coaches category. The late Roger Levi, a dedicated basketball official with over 2,200 games officiated, joins the Hall of Fame in the Officials category.
The induction ceremony, sponsored by Bob Robinson, will take place on Saturday, August 10, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling. Alongside Magistro, Nocida, and Levi, other honorees include individuals from various categories such as OVAC Family, Contributor, Media, and Athletes from different decades.
Magistro, a standout coach with a 242-113 career record, achieved remarkable success at Bellaire, including multiple playoff appearances and regional titles. Nocida’s coaching legacy spans five high schools and one college, with five state championships under his belt. Levi, a dedicated basketball official for 50 years, officiated at numerous state tournaments and championship games.
The Class of 2024 represents a diverse group of individuals who have made significant contributions to the OVAC community.
