Mandel, former partner of business mogul, fights for visitation rights with son in the Bahamas

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Laura MacDonald has been silenced by a court injunction imposed by her ex-husband in the Bahamas, preventing her from speaking about their son or any matters concerning him. Despite this gag order, her family is speaking out on her behalf in hopes of bringing attention to her plight.

MacDonald, who has been muzzled since December 2023, is unable to share her side of the story. Her brother, Bill MacDonald, is now speaking on her behalf, revealing the heartbreaking details of her struggle to be a part of her son’s life.

The boy, whose identity is protected under the Bahamas’ Family Law Act, is not MacDonald’s biological son, but she has been his mother since his birth. After separating from her ex-husband in 2022, MacDonald faced a series of legal battles and accusations that have kept her from seeing her son.

Despite her efforts to maintain contact through phone calls, messages, and legal avenues, MacDonald has been denied access to her son for over a year. Her brother describes a heartbreaking visit to the Bahamas where she was only allowed a brief, supervised meeting with her son in a boardroom surrounded by lawyers and security guards.

The legal battle has taken a toll on MacDonald, who is desperate to be a part of her son’s life. Her family is now appealing to the public in the hopes that increased awareness may lead to a resolution that allows MacDonald to see her son again.

While her ex-husband has not commented on the allegations, MacDonald’s family is determined to fight for her right to be a part of her son’s life.
