Manistique girls track team emerges victorious at St. Ignace Kiwanis Invite | Latest updates on News, Sports, and Job Opportunities

The Manistique Varsity Girls Track and Field Team showcased their dominance at the St. Ignace Kiwanis Invitational, clinching 22 medals and the team trophy. With a total of 130 points, they left their closest competitor, Brimley, trailing by 26 points.

Standout performances included Aaliyah Sears winning the 100m dash, Danielle Lund excelling in Shot Put, and the relay teams claiming first place in the 4X800, 4X400, and 4X200 events. Silver medals were earned by athletes like Linnea Way, Maya Carlson, and Aaliyah Sears, while bronze medals went to Kyra Carlson and Leah Goudreau.

The team’s depth was evident with fourth-place finishes by Ella Schuetter, Leah Goudreau, and Maya Carlson, and a fifth-place finish by Olivia Tiglas. Sixth-place finishers Clara Cunningham, Kyra Carlson, and Grace Miller also contributed points to the team’s success.

Coach Johnson praised the team’s hard work and dedication, noting that their performance at the invitational was a testament to their talent and teamwork. The athletes expressed their excitement and pride in representing Manistique and thanked their coaches and supporters for their guidance and encouragement.
