As spring sports season kicks into high gear at the high school, the Vineyard’s student athletes are making waves across various fields of play. With girls lacrosse, boys baseball, and the sailing teams leading the charge with three wins each, the competition is fierce and the victories are sweet.

In girls lacrosse, the team has secured two impressive wins, one at home and one on the road. Against Falmouth Academy, they dominated with a 14-4 victory, led by standout performances from Annabelle Metell and Ali Dyke. In their game against Boston Latin Academy, the girls rallied back from an early deficit to secure a 9-6 win, showcasing their resilience and teamwork.

Meanwhile, the baseball team bounced back from a tough loss to Monomoy with a thrilling come-from-behind win against Falmouth. Charlie Porterfield’s go-ahead double in the sixth inning sealed the deal, with Nate Story and Jack Debettencourt also making key contributions to the victory.

On the sailing front, the team has been dominating in the Cape and Islands League, boasting an impressive 10-7 overall record. Their recent wins against Barnstable, Cape Cod Academy, and Nantucket highlight their skill and determination on the water.

With track and field, tennis, softball, and boys lacrosse also in action, the high school sports scene is buzzing with excitement. As the student athletes continue to showcase their talents and dedication, the community eagerly anticipates the next thrilling matchups and standout performances on the field, court, and track.
