Jorge Martin emerged victorious in the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix sprint in Jerez, extending his lead in the championship standings. The race took a dramatic turn as Marc Marquez crashed out while leading late in the race, allowing Martin to claim the top spot on the podium.

Teenager Pedro Acosta finished as the runner-up, securing second place in the championship race, while former world champion Fabio Quartararo took third place. The race was filled with challenges as the track was dappled with dampness after morning rain, making it tricky for the riders.

Martin, riding for Ducati-Pramac, overtook the lead on lap two and managed to pull away from the chaotic battle behind him. Marquez, who started on pole, was the fastest on the track but made a crucial mistake that cost him the race victory.

Despite the challenging conditions, Acosta, starting from the fourth row, showcased his skills and clinched second place overall. Martin now leads the standings with 92 points, followed by Acosta with 63 points and Enea Bastianini in third with 59 points.

The race saw multiple riders failing to finish, including two-time defending champion Francesco Bagnaia and Maverick Vinales. Yamaha’s Quartararo, who started from 23rd position, managed to secure a podium finish, highlighting his impressive performance.
