Matt Brown slams Jake Paul for attempting to act tough and trash-talking Mike Tyson: ‘So cringeworthy’

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is set to return to the ring for a boxing match against Jake Paul in July, and the trash talk leading up to the fight has been heating up. However, some experts are warning that Paul may be making a grave mistake by taunting the 57-year-old Tyson.

Recently retired UFC welterweight Matt Brown expressed his concerns on a podcast, stating that Paul’s decision to provoke Tyson could backfire in a major way. Brown emphasized that Tyson, despite his age, still possesses a dangerous level of power and aggression that should not be underestimated.

Brown also drew parallels between Tyson and another former UFC champion, Mark Coleman, who continues to train and compete well into his 60s. Brown believes that Tyson may still have some fight left in him, and Paul’s behavior could be the catalyst to ignite that fire within the former champion.

While some may argue that Tyson’s age and time away from the sport may hinder his performance, Brown believes that the biggest challenge for Tyson will be maintaining the same level of intensity and hunger that made him a feared competitor in his prime.

As the anticipation for the Tyson-Paul fight continues to build, it remains to be seen whether Paul’s trash talk will have the desired effect of rattling Tyson or if it will only serve to awaken the beast within the former heavyweight champion. One thing is for certain, underestimating Mike Tyson may prove to be a costly mistake for Jake Paul.
