Matty Healy, the lead singer of the band The 1975, has revealed that he hasn’t listened to much of Taylor Swift’s new album, despite speculation that she may have written a “diss track” about him. The 35-year-old musician briefly dated Taylor, 34, in 2023, and it is believed that their relationship may have inspired some of the songs on her latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.
In an interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight’, Matty admitted that he hasn’t really listened to the record yet, but he expressed optimism that it is good. However, his family seems unfazed by the possibility that he may have inspired a track on the album titled ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’.
Matty’s aunt, Debbie Dedes, shared with MailOnline that Matty and Taylor know the truth about their relationship, and he is not likely to be surprised by any song she may have written about him. She emphasized that Matty is currently happy in his new relationship and is focusing on that.
Meanwhile, Taylor described her new album as capturing a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time, one that was both sensational and sorrowful. She expressed on Instagram that the period of her life reflected in the album is now over, and she believes that sharing her saddest stories through music allows her to be free of them.
Taylor and Matty’s brief romance ended in June last year, and fans are eagerly awaiting to see if any more details about their relationship will be revealed through Taylor’s new music.
