Maxwell, who signed for the club as a free agent in the summer of 2023, pursued his education part-time at Manchester Metropolitan University while continuing his professional football career.

The goalkeeper, who already holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management and coaching licenses, saw the Masters program as an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the business side of football. Maxwell expressed his interest in potentially exploring roles in sporting directorships and recruitment departments post his playing career.
