Lee County Commissioner Kevin Ruane will be the guest speaker at the upcoming Cape Coral Construction Industry Association dinner meeting on May 9 at Cape Cabaret. The event will feature an update on the Resilient Lee Plan, discussions on insurance in Florida, funding, and the local economy. The evening will kick off with a mix and mingle at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and Ruane’s presentation at 6:45 p.m. Members can attend for $40, while non-members can join for $50. In other news, Mercola Market of Cape Coral will host a Mid-Cape Pop-Up Market on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market will showcase local vendors offering unique art, crafts, gifts, food, and more. Unfortunately, Super Suds Boat Detailing has closed its doors due to illness, ending its 22-year run in the business. On a more positive note, the Horizon Council will host a Business Continuity Planning Workshop on May 10 to help local business owners prepare for maintaining operations during a crisis. The workshop will cover topics such as insurance coverage, remote operations, employee expectations, and data protection.
