Vermont Towns of Vershire and Strafford Awarded Federal Funding for Local Projects
In a recent announcement, Senator Bernie Sanders secured $42.5 million in Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) funding for Vermont, with 27 communities receiving awards for various local projects. Among the recipients are the towns of Vershire and Strafford in the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) region.
Vershire was awarded $750,000 to build a new town garage, while Strafford received $325,000 to preserve its historic town office. These funds will address crucial issues such as affordable housing, infrastructure, transportation, clean energy and water, agriculture, childcare, and rural development in the respective towns.
The TRORC region is benefiting from these federal funds, which will support important community projects and initiatives. The list of all recipients and their projects can be accessed through the TRORC website.
This funding is a significant boost for Vershire and Strafford, allowing them to improve their local infrastructure and preserve important historical landmarks. The communities are grateful for the support from Senator Sanders and the federal government, and look forward to implementing these projects for the benefit of their residents.
