Six people were killed in a tragic attack at the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre in Sydney. The knifeman, identified as Joel Cauchi, went on a stabbing spree, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake.
However, amidst the chaos, one hero emerged – Inspector Amy Scott. She bravely confronted Cauchi and ultimately stopped his deadly rampage by shooting him as he lunged at her with the blade. Despite her courageous actions, she also tried to save his life by performing CPR until paramedics arrived, but unfortunately, he could not be revived.
Inspector Scott’s bravery and quick thinking were praised by officials and the community. She was hailed as a hero for her selfless actions that saved many lives. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese commended her for running towards danger without hesitation, putting the safety of others above her own.
The victims of the attack, including five women and one man, ranged in age from 20 to 55. Among them was new mum Ashlee Good, who passed her baby to two men after being injured. Despite the tragic loss of life, the baby survived after hours of surgery.
