Meeting of Arab Ministers in Riyadh emphasizes the necessity of bringing an end to the conflict in Gaza

The Arab ministerial coordination meeting held in Riyadh today highlighted the urgent need to end the war on the Gaza Strip and achieve an immediate and complete ceasefire. The meeting, chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, brought together key officials from various Arab countries to discuss the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

Among the attendees were Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President; Ayman Hussein Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan; Sameh Shukri, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt; Hussein Al-Sheikh, Palestinian Minister of Civil Affairs; and Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Together, they emphasized the importance of protecting civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law and ensuring the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

The officials also expressed their support for efforts aimed at securing international recognition of an independent Palestinian state, fulfilling the aspirations of the Palestinian people. They called for the implementation of the two-state solution, with the State of Palestine recognized within the borders of June 4, 1967, and East Jerusalem as its capital. The attendees reaffirmed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of Palestinian territory and rejected any attempts to displace the Palestinian people or conduct military operations in the city of Rafah.

Furthermore, the officials warned against the continuation of illegal Israeli measures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which they believe undermine the prospects for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. They stressed the need for concrete steps to be taken to advance the two-state solution and ensure the rights and sovereignty of the Palestinian people.

The meeting in Riyadh comes at a critical time, as tensions in the region remain high and the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate.
