MEF introduces the fourth edition of the Low Carbon Earth Accelerator to support clean tech startups

The Massive Earth Foundation (MEF) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) have joined forces once again to launch the fourth edition of the Low Carbon Earth Accelerator (LCE) programme, Low Carbon. This initiative aims to support climate tech start-ups in the Asia-Pacific region as they work towards addressing the pressing issues of climate change, nature loss, and pollution.

The programme is seeking to back start-ups that are focusing on key areas such as clean air, agri-food, sustainable mobility, digital innovation, renewable energy, and plastic pollution. Additionally, there is a special emphasis on supporting women-led start-ups that benefit underserved communities.

MEF’s founder, Shailesh Vickram Singh, highlighted the unique opportunities that the Low Carbon Earth Accelerator program offers to early-stage entrepreneurs. Participants will have access to resources such as internal expertise, strategic relationships, financial support, and mentorship.

Through networking opportunities with established players in the cleantech industry, start-ups in the programme can foster innovation and expand sustainable business models. The programme will provide online training workshops, virtual bootcamps, mentorship sessions, networking events, and seminars to empower participants with the tools and connections needed to scale their innovative solutions.

In the previous edition of the programme, 67 start-ups participated, with 14 making it to the finals. Notably, seven of the finalists were women founders, showcasing the commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the climate tech sector.
