Melanie Wilking Responds to Miranda’s Reaction to ‘Dancing for the Devil’ – Hollywood Life

Reading Time: < 1 minute

TikTok star Melanie Wilking has recently spoken out about the controversial documentary “Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult,” shedding light on her family’s involvement in the situation. In response to her sister Miranda Derrick’s reaction to the docuseries, Melanie revealed that Miranda and her husband, James Derrick, had been contacted multiple times about it but had declined to participate.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, Melanie expressed her concerns about Miranda’s involvement with the cult, stating that she and her family were aware of the red flags and had their guard up. She recounted attending private dinners and services hosted by 7M, where she observed concerning behavior that Miranda may have overlooked.

Melanie emphasized that her lack of support for Miranda was due to her own observations and not a lack of care for her sister. She highlighted the rift that had developed within the family as a result of Miranda’s involvement with the controversial group.

Miranda, on the other hand, took to Instagram to defend her decision to distance herself from her family and embrace her newfound faith in Jesus Christ. She expressed her frustration with the portrayal of her in the documentary, denying claims of being brainwashed or controlled by the cult.

The Netflix docuseries focuses on the allegations surrounding 7M Films Shekinah Church, founded by Pastor Robert Shinn. The church has been embroiled in legal battles with former members, with accusations of operating as a cult under the guise of a religious institution. The ongoing controversy has divided families and raised questions about the influence of such organizations on their members.
