The University of North Florida had a successful week in sports as both the Men’s Tennis and Beach Volleyball teams secured ASUN tournament titles and competed in postseason play.

The Men’s Tennis team clinched their third ASUN Tournament title by defeating the Stetson Hatters on April 21. The Ospreys finished the regular season on a twelve-game winning streak, dominating all ten ASUN Conference foes. Despite a tough start in the doubles matches, Juan Pablo Cenoz and PJ Kotan rallied to secure the championship with a strong singles performance. Although they fell to No. 10 Florida State in the NCAA Tennis Championships, the Ospreys had a remarkable season.

On the other hand, the Beach Volleyball team made history by winning their first-ever match in the National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships against No. 17 Chattanooga. Michaela Rezentes and Taylor Pierce led the way with a convincing victory in the first flight, followed by Presley Murray and Madison Espy securing the second win. Despite a valiant effort, the Ospreys were eliminated by top-ranked USC in the next round.

Both teams’ successful seasons will be remembered as they made it to the postseason tournament and won the ASUN conference titles, a rare feat for both programs. North Florida athletics continues to excel with upcoming postseason competitions in Women’s and Men’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Track, and Softball, with Baseball also vying for a postseason spot in the ASUN standings.
