Men’s Tennis Secures Top Seed in MAC Freedom Tournament After Shutout Victory against Arcadia

The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team secured the number one seed in the MAC Freedom playoffs after a dominant 9-0 victory over Arcadia. The Ducks displayed their prowess on the court, losing only 13 games throughout the match.

In the doubles matches, Stevens took an early 3-0 lead with standout performances from players like Max-William Kanz and Johnny Haase, who blanked their opponents on the second line. The Wroe brothers also shined in their first-ever doubles match together, securing a win on line three.

Moving on to the singles matches, Stevens continued their winning streak by claiming all six matches. Sebastian Wroe stood out with a flawless performance on the fourth line, winning 6-0, 6-0. Kanz, Haase, and Tristian Wroe also delivered strong performances, each dropping just one game.

With this victory, Stevens improved to 10-6 overall and maintained a perfect 5-0 record in MAC Freedom play. The Ducks have consistently held the #1 seed in the conference and remain undefeated in regular season matches since joining the MAC Freedom. The win also marked Stevens’ 64th consecutive victory against Arcadia, with each match ending in a 9-0 sweep.

The team’s success was further highlighted by individual achievements, with players like Haase and Tristan Wroe securing their first career doubles wins and maintaining a perfect 3-0 record in singles. The Ducks look to carry this momentum into the playoffs as they aim to continue their winning streak and secure the MAC Freedom title.
