Men’s Tennis Shuts Out Springfield in NEWMAC Regular Season Finale, 9-0

Babson College Men’s Tennis Team Dominates Springfield College in NEWMAC Match

In a commanding performance, the No. 33 Babson College men’s tennis team secured a resounding 9-0 victory over Springfield College in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match. Graduate student Jonah Wilson and first-year Logan Back led the charge, registering points in both singles and doubles matches.

The win extended Babson’s winning streak to five, with an overall record of 12-8 and a second-place finish in the NEWMAC regular season with a 6-1 record. On the other hand, Springfield College concluded its regular season at 4-11 overall and 3-4 in the NEWMAC, earning the final conference playoff berth.

Senior Day was also celebrated by Babson, honoring senior Jose Gonzalez, Wilson, and fellow graduate student Andrew Watson. The team showcased their depth and talent with junior Wesley Zhang and first-years Kerem Ozlale, Mattias Harrell, and Brandon Reznik all securing singles wins.

The Beavers dominated the doubles portion of the match, taking a 3-0 lead early on. Wilson and Watson sealed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 victory at number one. In singles play, all six matches were decided in straight sets, with Babson players showcasing their skill and determination.

Babson will wrap up the regular season with a non-conference match against No. 37 Hobart, while Springfield will prepare for a NEWMAC Tournament first-round match at Clark. The Beavers continue to impress with their strong performance and impressive record against NEWMAC opponents.
