Farmingdale State Men’s Tennis Team Clinches Record 15th Consecutive Victory

In an impressive display of skill and determination, the Farmingdale State College men’s tennis team secured their record-setting 15th consecutive victory with a resounding 9-0 win over Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph’s-Long Island. The Rams finished their regular-season schedule with a perfect 15-0 record (6-0 Skyline), solidifying their position as the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship.

This historic achievement marks the first time in school history that a Farmingdale State College program will enter postseason play with an undefeated record, excluding the COVID-shortened seasons of 2020 and 2021. The team’s dominant performance in both doubles and singles play showcased their depth and talent on the court.

In doubles competition, the top pairing of seniors Alan Sabovic and Matthew Waterhouse, along with the #2 duo of Ty Williams and Matthew Murrell, secured convincing 8-1 victories. The third pairing of Vansh Aggarwal and Emil Sabovic added an 8-0 win to give the Rams a commanding 3-0 lead.

The momentum carried into singles play, with Waterhouse, Vincent Manzi, Luke Mun, Ethan Cintron, A. Sabovic, and Matthew Olkhovetsky all delivering impressive performances to complete the 9-0 shutout.

With the top seed secured for the Skyline Conference Championship, Farmingdale State will face off against #4 seeded Yeshiva University in the Semifinal round on Friday, May 3rd. The Rams will have home court advantage throughout the playoffs, setting the stage for an exciting postseason run.
