Men’s Tennis Team Blanks #4 FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom Semifinals

The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team secured a dominant 5-0 victory over #4 FDU-Florham in the MAC Freedom semifinals. Junior Olof Persson and first-year Johnny Haase led the charge with two wins each, propelling the Ducks to the finals.

The Ducks got off to a strong start by sweeping all three doubles matches. Haase and senior Andre He shut out their opponents on the third line, while Persson and junior Vivek Harinarayan claimed victory on the first line. Sophomore Max-William Kanz and first-year Samvid Andhare also secured a win on the second line.

With a comfortable lead, Stevens only needed two wins in singles play to seal the deal. Persson and Haase delivered, both winning their matches 6-0, 6-0. The Ducks now boast a 12-6 record and remain undefeated in conference play in the MAC Freedom.

Haase extended his singles winning streak to eight matches, showcasing his dominance in conference play. The team’s overall performance was highlighted by the successful doubles pairings and strong singles play.

Stevens will now advance to the championship game and face either #3 DeSales or #2 Lebanon Valley. The championship match is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Braddock Park in North Bergen, N.J.
