Meryl Streep Shines at Cannes 2024 in Indian Designer’s Jewellery
The 77th Cannes Film Festival opened with a bang as Hollywood legend Meryl Streep graced the red carpet at the Grand Theatre Lumiere. Streep was honoured with the prestigious Honorary Palme d’Or, adding another feather to her illustrious cap.
As she accepted the accolade, Streep, known for her wit, humorously remarked, “I’m just so grateful that you haven’t gotten sick of my face.” However, it wasn’t just her charismatic presence that captivated the audience. Streep’s attire for the evening featured a touch of Indian craftsmanship, thanks to the exquisite earrings crafted by Indian designer Hanut Singh.
Draped in a stunning satin Dior wrap dress, Streep’s ensemble was elevated by Singh’s unique jewellery pieces. Singh, who has previously adorned global icons like Madonna and Rihanna, added an extra layer of allure to Streep’s red carpet look.
The Honorary Palme d’Or is a prestigious recognition of career achievement, with past recipients including Catherine Deneuve, Jane Fonda, and Clint Eastwood. This year, two more honorary Palmes will be presented, one to Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli and the other to George Lucas.
Streep’s appearance at Cannes 2024 not only celebrated her remarkable career but also showcased the fusion of Hollywood glamour with Indian artistry, making it a memorable and star-studded event.
