The rainy weather in Manitoba is set to continue, with Environment Canada issuing a rainfall warning for Winnipeg and much of southern Manitoba. Meteorologist Kyle McAulay reported that the region has already surpassed its average rainfall for the month of May, with over 70 millimetres already fallen.

The heaviest rainfall is expected to start overnight and last until Friday afternoon, with the possibility of localized flooding due to the heavy amount of rain over a short period. McAulay advised residents to be cautious and prepared for potential flooding in some areas.

Despite the gloomy forecast, there is a silver lining. McAulay mentioned that after this upcoming rain, there are no similar events in the near future. By mid to late next week, temperatures are expected to rise, with the region seeing some days in the 20-degree Celsius range.

For now, residents are advised to stay indoors and prepare for the wet weather ahead. With the ground already saturated from previous rainfall events, it’s important to take precautions to prevent any potential flooding. Stay tuned for updates on the weather forecast and be prepared for the rainy days ahead in Manitoba.
