Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, is celebrating the success of its alumni who have gone on to start their own businesses. The university recently announced its inaugural RedHawk50 list, which recognizes the 50 fastest-growing companies founded by Miami graduates.

One of the businesses included in the list is Rooted Grounds, a coffee company founded by Patsy and David Knopf. The couple started their business in their garage nine years ago and have since grown it into a successful venture. They credit their alma mater, Miami University, for providing them with the skills and community support needed to thrive as entrepreneurs.

Rooted Grounds was honored to be named on the RedHawk50 list, alongside other successful alumni-owned businesses like COhatch, a co-working space with 30 locations and counting. Matt Davis, the CEO and Co-Founder of COhatch, is proud to be a part of the list and sees it as an opportunity to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Miami University hopes that the RedHawk50 list will not only celebrate the success of its alumni but also provide inspiration and guidance to current students. The university plans to make this an annual tradition and will start accepting nominations for the second list in June.

Overall, the collaboration between Miami University and its successful alumni is a testament to the power of community support and mentorship in helping businesses thrive. It’s a reminder that with the right resources and network, even start-up businesses can achieve great success.
