Michel Pereira criticizes UFC middleweights for avoiding fights, no longer calling out opponents

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Michel Pereira, the rising UFC middleweight fighter, is fed up with the lack of big-name opponents willing to step into the octagon with him. Riding a seven-fight winning streak, Pereira is set to face Ihor Potieria at UFC 301 this Saturday, but he is no longer interested in calling out specific fighters after facing numerous refusals.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Pereira expressed his frustration with the middleweight division, calling it “a mess with so many scared little stars” who refuse to face each other. Despite facing criticism for his upcoming opponent, Pereira remains confident in his abilities and is determined to put on a show.

Potieria, who has a 2-3 record in the UFC, is considered a significant underdog by oddsmakers, but Pereira disagrees with that assessment. He believes Potieria is a formidable opponent and is not to be underestimated.

Pereira is motivated to stop Potieria from scoring another victory over a Brazilian fan favorite, referencing Potieria’s knockout win over MMA legend Mauricio Rua in his first octagon victory. Pereira sees himself as being on a mission to defeat Potieria and prevent him from becoming known as the “Brazilian killer.”

With a renewed contract with the UFC and a determination to prove himself as a top contender in the middleweight division, Pereira is focused on making a statement in his upcoming fight. Fans can expect an exciting showdown between Pereira and Potieria at UFC 301 as Pereira looks to continue his winning streak and solidify his place among the UFC’s elite fighters.
