Michigan State Men’s Tennis had a historic season that came to an end with a tough loss to 12th-ranked Harvard in the Boston Regional final. The Spartans fell 4-0, but despite the defeat, the team can look back on a season filled with first-time accomplishments.

The Spartans notched a program-record 22 wins this season, including their first-ever NCAA Tournament victory over an undefeated Denver team in the first round. While the team’s dual season is over, three players – sophomore Ozan Baris, graduate student Ronald Hohmann III, and junior Max Sheldon – will continue to compete in the NCAA Championships for singles and doubles.

Hohmann, who played in his final collegiate match as part of the team, was the only Spartan to claim a set against Harvard. Head coach Harry Jadun expressed pride in the team’s efforts, despite not playing their best in the regional round.

Jadun, in his second season at the helm, has overseen a remarkable turnaround for the Spartans. After going 11-14 in his first season, the team went on to have one of the best seasons in program history. Looking ahead, Jadun is excited about the future and hopes to continue breaking records and elevating the program.

The singles and doubles tournaments will kick off on May 20 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where Baris, Hohmann, and Sheldon will look to finish the season on a high note.
