Microsoft 365’s Copilot is upgrading to the newest GPT language AI model: How it will impact users

Microsoft has announced exciting updates for users of Copilot for Microsoft 365, including the introduction of the latest generation of language models for generative AI and expanded capabilities.

One of the major updates is the introduction of GPT-4 Turbo to Copilot for Microsoft 365. This means that all licensed commercial customers will have priority access to the powerful GPT-4 Turbo model on the web and work data. Microsoft is also removing limits on the total number of chats per day and the number of turns per conversation, ensuring faster and more comprehensive responses for users.

In addition to this, Copilot users will now have access to the latest foundation models grounded in the most up-to-date public information from the web. This includes commercial data protection, ensuring that user and business prompts or responses are not retained to train the underlying foundation models.

Furthermore, Microsoft is enhancing the image generation capabilities in Microsoft Designer. Users will now be able to initiate up to 100 rapid image generation requests daily, up from the previous limit of 15. This feature is powered by the DALL-E 3 model and allows users to create custom images from text descriptions.

These new capabilities will be initially available on copilot.microsoft.com, followed by the Copilot mobile app, Windows, Edge, and other platforms where users can access the work context directly, such as Microsoft 365. With these updates, Microsoft is aiming to provide users with more powerful and efficient tools for their productivity needs.
