This weekend in the Mid-Ohio Valley is packed with exciting events and activities for all ages to enjoy. From art shows to live music performances, there is something for everyone to experience.

On Thursday, the day kicks off with an afterschool movie at the Marietta Public Library and an oil on canvas workshop at WesBanco. Nature lovers can head to North Bend State Park for a sand art and spring hike, while art enthusiasts can visit the Parkersburg Art Center for student art shows. For those aged 55 and above, there is an “Art is Life/Life is Art” workshop at the Parkersburg Art Center.

Friday brings more opportunities for creativity with another oil on canvas workshop and a cutting board making class at BB2C Makerspace. Music lovers can enjoy performances by the River Towne Band and Kansas: Another Fork in the Road – 50th Anniversary Tour. For those interested in a bit of mystery, there is a Murder Mystery Party at the Barlow Branch Library.

Saturday is filled with even more exciting events, including the Appalachian Paracon at the Blennerhassett Hotel and Spa, the Minted Vintage Spring Craft Show in Mineral Wells, and the Earth Day Buckley Island Tree Planting at the Ohio River National Wildlife Refuge. The day ends with live music performances by Stephen Givens and Sadie Johnson at various venues.

Sunday offers a relaxing end to the weekend with a Sunday Funday at the Lafayette Hotel, a performance of Appalachian Spring by the WV Symphony Orchestra at Henderson Hall Plantation, and auditions for Matilda the Musical at the Actors Guild of Parkersburg.
