Midi is creating a digital platform to address an often neglected aspect of women’s health

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Joanna Strober, a woman in her late 40s, experienced a common yet frustrating symptom of perimenopause – insomnia. After struggling to get a proper diagnosis and treatment, she realized the lack of resources available for women going through this stage of life. This realization led her to launch Midi Health, a telehealth platform specifically designed to cater to women in midlife experiencing perimenopause and menopause symptoms.

Strober’s journey to launching Midi was not without its challenges. She highlighted the importance of changes in telehealth regulations during the pandemic, which allowed her to bring care directly to women through digital platforms. This shift in healthcare delivery inspired Strober to create a platform where women could build long-term relationships with providers who understand their unique needs during this stage of life.

Unlike many other digital health startups, Midi focuses on establishing trust and providing ongoing care rather than quick, one-off treatments. This approach has resonated with investors, leading to a recent $60 million Series B funding round, bringing the total funding for Midi to $99 million.

Strober’s background in building digital health startups and her experience as a venture capitalist have influenced the strategic decisions behind Midi. With the latest funding, Midi plans to expand its services to include areas such as sexual wellness, hair and skin care, and access to testosterone for women going through perimenopause and menopause.

As Strober continues to lead Midi Health, she remains committed to addressing the healthcare needs of women during this significant stage of their lives. The company’s focus on building a trusted healthcare brand for women sets it apart in the evolving landscape of digital health startups.
