Mike Tyson confirms exhibition boxing match with Jake Paul, promises it will be a real fight

Mike Tyson is set to face off against Jake Paul in an exhibition match on July 20, but don’t expect this to be a typical friendly bout. The 57-year-old boxing legend confirmed in a Fox News interview that this fight will be anything but ordinary.

Tyson made it clear that despite being labeled an exhibition, this will be a real fight with no restrictions. He dismissed Paul’s chances of hurting him, stating, “This guy is going to come, he’s going to try to hurt me, which I’m accustomed to. He’s going to be greatly mistaken.”

The event will be streamed live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Details are scarce, with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation reportedly not receiving any information from the promoters.

This won’t be the first time a Paul brother steps into the ring for an exhibition match. Jake’s elder brother, Logan, faced Floyd Mayweather in 2021, with no winner declared. However, Tyson is adamant that his fight with Jake will be different, claiming he is currently scared but will become invincible as the fight approaches.

On the other side, Jake Paul has been hyping the match with his usual antics, including a joke face tattoo and a jab at Tyson’s infamous ear-biting incident. Despite his mixed results in the boxing world, Paul will face a whole new challenge in Tyson, assuming the fight actually takes place as scheduled.
