Mike Tyson to face Jake Paul in official heavyweight match

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson will step back into the ring on July 20 to face off against YouTube sensation Jake Paul in a sanctioned heavyweight professional bout in Dallas. The fight, announced by fighters and promoters on Monday, will consist of eight two-minute rounds and the result will count on the record of both Paul and Tyson.

Tyson, with a record of 50-6 and 44 knockouts, has not won a fight since 2003 when he defeated Clifford Etienne. The 54-year-old boxing legend will be facing the 27-year-old Paul, who boasts a record of 9-1 with six wins by knockout.

Despite concerns over the age difference between the fighters, Tyson and Paul both agreed to have the fight sanctioned as a professional bout. The winner will take all in this highly anticipated match-up.

The bout will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. Promoters have worked with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations to ensure the fight meets all necessary requirements for sanctioning.

Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight champion, will be looking to add another victory to his storied career, while Paul will be aiming to continue his rise in the boxing world. With both fighters eager for a definitive outcome, fans can expect an exciting and competitive match when these two enter the ring in July.
