‘Miracle’: Baby born alive from mother’s dying womb in Gaza | Global News

In the midst of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, a miraculous event unfolded as a baby was safely delivered from the womb of a Palestinian woman who tragically lost her life during an attack in Rafah city.

The baby girl was born prematurely through a Caesarian section after her mother, Sabreen al-Sakani, was critically injured in the head and abdomen during the assault. Despite the mother’s dire condition, doctors at a Kuwaiti hospital in Rafah decided to proceed with the risky surgery, knowing the mother’s life was at stake.

“It’s a miracle that she was still alive, despite her difficulties in breathing…The mother died 10 minutes after the surgery,” the surgeon revealed.

Following the successful delivery, the newborn was immediately placed in an incubator and provided with necessary medical care. Tragically, the baby’s father and sister did not survive the attack and were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The baby’s uncle, Rami al-Sheikh, expressed his commitment to caring for his brother’s daughter, naming her ‘Sabreen al-Ruh’ in honor of her parents’ wishes.

The incident occurred amidst escalating violence in Gaza, with at least 24 Palestinians losing their lives in Israeli airstrikes. The conflict between Israel and Hamas has claimed thousands of lives since its inception, with both sides engaged in a deadly struggle for control.
