Moderate Greek conservatives poised for victory in EU elections

In a surprising turn of events, the local EPP affiliates of New Democracy in Greece are defying the trend of ruling parties across the EU by topping the polls in the upcoming European elections. Despite being one of the few ruling parties expected to maintain their popularity, the current centre-right government in Greece, led by Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis, is exceeding expectations.

According to the Euronews superpoll, Nea Demokratia, the European People Party’s political affiliate in Greece, is leading the polls among Greek citizens.
